Andrea Deplazes, born in 1960 in Chur, Switzerland, is a renowned architect and professor. After studying architecture at ETH Zurich, he founded his own architectural practice in Chur with Valentin Bearth in 1988, from which Bearth & Deplazes Architekten AG emerged in 2001. He has been a full professor of architecture and construction at ETH Zurich since 2002 and was instrumental in the design and realization of the Monte Rosa Hut.
